Trusts & Estates Associate

Ana Bird Legal Search is partnering with a sophisticated Chicago law firm seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate with 5 to 7 years of substantive estate planning and trust and estate administration experience.

This opportunity offers meaningful responsibility advising individuals and families on sophisticated wealth transfer and estate planning matters, direct collaboration with experienced private wealth attorneys, and a flexible hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft sophisticated estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, and related instruments.
• Advise clients on complex estate, gift, charitable, and multigenerational wealth planning.
• Prepare and review gift and estate tax returns.
• Handle trust and estate administration matters.
• Manage estate planning and administration projects with minimal oversight.
• Develop and maintain direct client relationships.
• Train and support junior associates and paralegals.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of substantive estate planning and trust and estate administration experience.
• Strong experience drafting estate planning documents and applying complex planning techniques.
• Experience preparing gift and estate tax returns.
• Ability to independently manage estate planning and administration matters.
• Excellent legal research, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong client service orientation and collaborative professional approach.
• J.D. and active bar admission in good standing.
