Georgia Military College (GMC) Fairburn Campus is seeking qualified candidates to serve as part-time tutors in the following subject areas:
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- English
- Political Science
- History
- Psychology
- Criminal Justice
- Sociology
- SAT/ACT Test Preparation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide academic support to students through one-on-one, small-group, drop-in, appointment and classroom-based tutoring sessions.
- Monitor employee GMC email on a weekly basis for tutoring assignments, updates, and communications.
- Provide the Academic Support Manager with an updated availability schedule at the beginning of each academic quarter.
- Promptly communicate any scheduling conflicts or changes at least 24 hours in advance.
- Maintain accurate attendance records for all tutoring sessions.
- Collaborate with course instructors, as needed, to obtain syllabi, course materials, or clarification regarding curriculum and course expectations.
- Participate in all required tutor training and professional development sessions as directed by the Academic Support Manager.
Qualified candidates should demonstrate strong subject-matter expertise, effective communication skills, and a commitment to supporting student success.
- Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess at least a high school diploma.
- Commit to two full quarters of tutoring.
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be organized and punctual.
- Must be able to maintain an electronic timesheet.
- Completed sophomore-level college coursework in the subject area with an A or B average.
- Meet with students on a one-to-one, small-group, or classroom tutoring format(s) to give learning assistance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience tutoring college students and/or adult learners
