UF6 Conversion / Fluorination Process Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a UF6 Conversion / Fluorination Process Engineer for an advanced nuclear fuel developer which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in fluorination process development looking to further their career in uranium conversion.

• Develop uranium conversion and fluorination processes, from feed preparation to product recovery
• Evaluate how temperature, gas composition, and residence time affect conversion and impurities
• Support lab and demonstration-facility commissioning, sampling, and troubleshooting
• Assess corrosion and materials-of-construction challenges in fluorinating environments
• Support equipment selection for reactors and gas-handling systems

Essential Qualifications

• Experience in fluorination, halogen chemistry, gas-solid reactions, or uranium conversion process development
• Hands-on lab or pilot work with reactive gases, high temperatures, or corrosive service
• Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Nuclear Engineering, or related field

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced degree; direct uranium fluorination or UF6 experience
• Fluorine-bearing gas systems or UF6 handling
• Online gas analysis or DOE/nuclear facility experience
