    NMC is currently recruiting an Ultrasonographer. The position is per-diem, variable hours based on the needs of the department, generally variable between 7 am - 5:30 pm with variable weekend and on call coverage.     Pay Range
    $34.2500 to $47.8500 USD

    The posted hiring range represents the anticipated pay range for this position. Individual compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience and internal equity. Placement within the range will be based on the candidate's qualifications and alignment with the requirements of the role.

    Ultrasonographer

    JOB SUMMARY:

    ·         Operates sonography equipment to produce images under the supervision of the Radiologist following established protocols and procedures.

    PRE-REQUISITES:

     Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program.  Bachelors degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred.
     
    Certification: Active Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), or board eligible.  Specialty registration in at least one of the following specialties: Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular Technology (VT) is required within 6 months of hire.  Current BLS certification is required.

    RELATIONSHIPS:

    ·         Reports To:  Diagnostic Imaging Manager

    ·         Supervises:

    ·         Other Contacts:  Professional and technological staff, nursing, patients, families, public, hospital staff, students, providers and their staff

    SCOPE:

    ·         Machinery or Equipment Used: Computer, basic office equipment, diagnostic imaging equipment, and patient transport devices

    ·         Physical Demands:  Occasional: sitting, lifting up to 55 lbs., kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, downward pull and upward push of 50 lbs. Frequent: bending, squatting, stooping, pushing/pulling. Constant: standing & walking

    ·         Working Conditions:  Exposure to electrical, mechanical and radiant energy hazards, possible exposure to blood borne pathogens. Exposure to crisis situations and unpleasant elements of acute traumatic injuries, occasional stress due to work load and competing priorities. Occasional subject to irregular hours

    ·         Required Protective Equipment:  gloves, gowns, goggles, masks, face shield as situation requires

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    ·         Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills in all diagnostic sonography examinations according to American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines including

    ·         Adapts procedures according to protocol to meet the individual needs of the patient, the provider and the situation

    ·         Accurately differentiates between normal and abnormal findings

    ·         Communicates with patients, team members, and management in an accurate and timely manner evidenced by:

    ·         Talks with and listens to patients/team members

    ·         Reports preliminary interpretation with comparative results to the appropriate provider(s)

    ·         Complete timely clinical documentation

    ·         Uses all electronic systems to appropriately manage the patient experience

    ·         Protects confidentiality of patient/colleagues

    ·         Applies critical thinking skills and considers alternatives

    ·         Organizes multitask workload

    ·         Prioritizes tasks/work

    ·         Collects/integrates data from multiple sources

    ·         Organizes/delivers care for multiple priorities

    ·         Develops and maintain human care relationships

    ·         Adapts patient care for diverse populations

    ·         Advocates for needs of patients

    ·         Refers concerns/issues to appropriate resources

    ·         Demonstrates the unit specific skills requisite for unit/patient population served
