At NorthBay Health, the OB Sonographer in the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) clinic is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations for high-risk obstetric patients. This role supports providers by obtaining detailed fetal imaging and ensuring accurate documentation. The Sonographer embodies NorthBay’s True North values by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining excellence and integrity in all imaging services.PRIMARY JOB DUTIESPerforms high risk obstetric ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols.Conducts advanced imaging including anatomy scans, BPPs, Dopplers, and NT studies.Assists and instructs patients prior to and during examinations.Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards.Responsible for patient confidentiality, safety and well-being during examinations.Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to and after each patient.Collaborates with MFM providers and OB care team.Reports all equipment failures and/or malfunctions to the Diagnostic Imaging outpatient supervisor.Reports all patient complaints and discrepancies to the supervisor.Other duties as assignedEducation: Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program required.Licensure: RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) requiredOB/GYN specialty certification (RDMS-OB/GYN) requiredNuchal Translucency (NT) certification preferredCurrent BLS certification requiredExperience: Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN sonography experience required.
