Shift Information: Monday - Thursday with shifts between the hours of 8am-9pm

About Facility:

• Level III Trauma Center
• Level II NICU
• Primary Stroke Center
• Beds: 167

General Information:

• Imaging Rooms: 3 total - 2 in department and 1 in Breast Imaging
• Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience: No, 2 years
• Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes
• Department is staffed 24/7
• If working the overnight shift, traveler will be the only US Tech

Patient Types:

• Inpatient/outpatient
• Adults, very few peds
• OB, pelvic exams, vascular, ABIs, reflux studies, venous insufficiencies with mapping, carotids, small parts,
• Experience not required: MSK - musculoskeletal exams of small bones and injections with radiologist, neonatal heads, prostate/breasts

Patients seen in a shift:

• 8-10 patients

Required Licensure and Certifications:

• BLS, ARDMS
• If working overnight shift, candidate MUST have OB Cert as well

Skills required:

• Experience with above patient types, except the non-required ones
• EPIC experience preferred

Support on the Unit:

• Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
• Hospitalist: 24/7
• RRT
• Radiologist: There during the day, remote working on night
• Transporter: during the day, but not on nights
• Other US techs during the day, but solo on nights
• Management
• Lead Tech

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC - preferred
• PACS: McKesson
• Equipment used:
  • Client machines – experience not required

       Floating: 

• Will do portables on the floor

Orientation:

• 1 week of orientation with preceptor

       Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: None
  • Check job listing : if this is for an every weekend job, then will work every weekend
• On call: No
• Holiday Expectations: None
• Approved of RTO: we can approve 7 days off
• Shift times: Varied shift times, refer to job posting
  • Could be Day, Mids, or Nights
  • If working overnights or weekends, then these will be 12h shifts
• Schedule cycle: Lead Tech makes the schedules weeks in advance; will receive a few weeks prior to schedule starting
  • May or may not be able to accommodate block scheduling
