Shift Information: Tuesday 7p-7a, Thursday/Friday 7a-7p

Weekend Rotation: will be discussed with manager during final interview – weekend rotation will depend on needs at time of contract

Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

Floating Requirements: Yes, night shift sonographer supports ultrasound needs at both Ballantyne FSED and Providence FSED facilities.

About Facility:

• Free standing emergency department
  • 10 bed ED
• No Trauma Designation, licensed under Advocate SE Pineville.
• We offer 24/7 on-site X-ray, CT, and Ultrasound services.
• New Facility - Ballantyne just opened in December 2024.
• Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Department Information:

• Average of 15 ED visits per day
• Department performs an average of 5 studies/day.

Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years
Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• ED patients only

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

• Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S) required.
• BLS

Skills required:

• General ED US imaging
• Ability/willingness to perform the below skills outside of US imaging (can be taught during orientation):
  • General vitals
  • Sitter
  • EKG
• Are expected to help room patients, get vital signs, line and lab patients, sit for some psych patients if needed when not performing radiology tasks
• Assist DX/CT with moving patients, transporting patients if busy

Support within the Department:

• Staff from other specialties/modalities – Teamwork expected

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• RIS: Epic Radiant
• PACS: Philips iSite

Department specific Equipment:

• Siemens Sequoia s
• Trophon

Floating: 

• Yes, night shift sonographer supports ultrasound needs at both Ballantyne FSED and Providence FSED facilities.

Orientation (facility and unit):

• Administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review, etc.) – 1 day
• 2 days to 1 week departmental (as needed)

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: will be discussed with manager during final interview – weekend rotation will depend on needs at time of contract
• No call
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• RTO: Manager approval
