Description

JOB DUTIES:

  • Complete the patients’ intake process, taking patients’ histories, and preparing and educating patients about the imaging procedure
  • Review patients’ charts and Doctors’ notes before the examination, and maintain patients’ records during and after procedures.
  • Position patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images
  • Monitor patients and ensure their safety during imaging procedures
  • Calibrate the equipment to ensure clear, usable images are taken of the correct area as specified by the Doctor
  • Log and organize image results and consult with Radiologists to determine if other images need to be taken
  • Coordinate with the radiology department to schedule and complete radiographic procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current radiology practices
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy

 

The Radiologic/Ultrasound/Nuclear Medicine Technologist assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others

  • Passion for keeping people safe, required
  • Ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistance
  • Computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Meditech
  • Ability to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations as well as exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology, required
  • ARRT- or ARDMS-registered or eligible, required
  • Kansas State Radiologic Technologist license current or in process, required
  • BLS certification, required
  • One year of radiology experience, preferred
  • Sonographers must be graduates of an accredited school of ultrasound, ARDMS required
  • CT Technologists must be ARRT (CT) or (R) and working toward CT certification
  • MRI Technologists must be ARRT (MR) or (R) and working towards CT/MRI certification
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologists must be a CNMT (NMTCB) or ARRT (N)
  • Mammographers must be ARRT (M)
  • Students in any technologist position must be attending an approved school
