Responsibilities/Job Description:
Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a skilled and motivated Ultrasound Technologist to join our dynamic vascular team with a home base at our Fairview Vascular Clinic and Fairview Vein Clinic in Edina, MN.
This position offers variety and collaboration, supporting care across multiple locations, including:
Fairview Vascular Clinic – Edina
Fairview Vein Clinic – Edina
Fairview Vascular Clinic - Maple Grove
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM
FTE: 1.0 (80 hours every two weeks)
The Ultrasound Technologist-Clinic functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (RDMS).
Responsibilities
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner
Verifies patient identification and documentation
Reviews physician order prior to exam or procedure
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Recognizes structures visualized and understands their significance
Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols
Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to referring physicians and/or radiologists
Participates in creating a culture of patient safety
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility
Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements., completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
Follows infection control guidelines
Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members
Responds appropriately to emergent situations
Required Qualifications
ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 Days
RVT certification within 6 months of hire
Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
