Unarmed School Security Officer

The Unarmed Educational / School SecurityOfficer ensures efficient and professional security operations at schoolswithin the appointed region. This position is a working level Security Officerwho actively works onsite, securing school’s buildings/properties, schoolstaff, and students, as well as locating and deterring suspicious activitieswhile providing a safe and secure learning environment for all campus personnel.The school Security Officer is held to a high standard of physical and mentalcapabilities to ensure the students, parents, and staff are protected.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

·Work to ensure the assigned premises and/or peopleare kept safe and secure

·Work closely and cooperatively with staff atassigned premises to ensure they are safe and secure

·React and respond quickly to dangerous/hazardoussituations

·Monitor assigned location with high degree of attentivenessto surroundings

·Communicate effectively to site team using assignedradio

·Identify and correct inefficiencies, liabilities,and safety hazards at work sites

·Utilize the company’s current scheduling andapproving her/his weekly hours for payroll

·Provide detailed information to authorities asneeded

·Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/ormanagement

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communicationskills

·Excellent organizational skills andattention to detail is a must

·Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite andadaptability to other related software

·Must be able to pass the firearms test administeredby Premier Security Solutions

·Safely and legally operate a motor vehicle

·Refer to the Standard Operating Procedures in EmployeeManual regarding Use of Force

Physical Demands

·Must be able to sit, stand, bend, or walk for 100%of the shift as needed

·Must be able to quickly ascend and descend stairsand move as needed to secure premises

·Must be able to quickly physically engage tode-escalate and/or respond to security or safety threats.

·Must have excellent visual and auditory acuity tosee, hear, and interpret observable people, things, behavior, and speech

·Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Position Type and Expected Work Conditions

·Full-Time or Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

• Involves work assignments that vary in days of the week and time of day to relate to the 24/7 security operations of the client
• Travel to other locations may be needed

·Both indoors and outdoors possible, regardless ofweather

Required Education and Experience

·High school diploma or GED

·Valid Driver’s License and be able to providedocumentation

·Required to make any/all continuedtraining/education classes provided by Premier Security Solutions, relevant to position
