ACTIVE DC SECURITY OFFICER LICENSE REQUIRED. You must hold a current DC Security Officer license to be considered.
Pay: $19.00/hr · Full-time · Biweekly pay · 401(k) · Performance bonus
Shifts: 11 pm–7 am; 10 pm - 4 am, plus other shifts as available.
Weekends and holidays are required.
Where: An upscale apartment community, Washington, DC. Metro-accessible.
What the job is really like
This is a roving post, and you’ll be walking for part of your shift, indoors and outdoors, in heat, cold and rain during exterior patrols at some properties.
You will:
- Patrol the property, retail areas, parking garage and common areas
- Monitor entrances, exits and surveillance cameras
- Respond to suspicious activity and critical situations
- Ask trespassers, panhandlers and loiterers to leave, and contact police when needed
- Write clear daily activity and incident reports
- Enforce property rules professionally and courteously
You need
- An active DC Security Officer license
- A high school diploma or GED
- The ability to pass a drug test
- Reliable transportation and a cell phone
- The ability to work independently and write clear reports
- A professional appearance and attitude
Security experience is preferred but not required.
