Underwriting Assistant (Product Liability)

What You’ll Do:
- Partner closely with the Product Liability underwriting team to rate, quote, and issue binders using internal systems
- Prepare and issue policies in accordance with underwriting and operational guidelines
- Process midterm policy endorsements efficiently and accurately
- Communicate with brokers to gather required documentation and follow up on outstanding items
- Support claims by setting up new files, sending notices, and providing administrative assistance
- Assist finance during month-end close, including premium follow-ups
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to operational excellence
Qualifications:
What You Bring:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience as an Underwriting Assistant, ideally in General Liability (preferred)
- Familiarity with underwriting processes, terminology, and rating practices
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe; experience with underwriting systems a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
