OUIA oversees Louisiana's Unemployment Insurance (UI) program, which provides temporary financial assistance to eligible workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own. The office manages the full UI lifecycle, including employer tax collection, benefit claims processing, fraud prevention, and appeals
The Unemployment Insurance Tax Agent 1/2/3 will independently conduct state unemployment tax audits for businesses of all sizes, including private and governmental entities. They will examine complex accounting systems and financial records-such as ledgers, payroll journals, bank statements, and tax returns-to ensure compliance with Employment Security Law and verify that wages are accurately reported for Unemployment Insurance tax purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, or unemployment insurance; OR
A bachelor's degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation; OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
