Trumbull-Brayman Joint Venture is seeking an experienced Union Operating Mechanic-Cranes to join our team on the Montgomery Lock & Dam Project in Monaca, Pennsylvania, a major U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) infrastructure project with an estimated 8-year duration.This is a long-term, full-time leadership opportunity on a large-scale heavy civil project involving structural concrete, dam and lock rehabilitation, and complex infrastructure construction. The Labor Foreman will supervise construction labor crews and coordinate daily field operations while supporting multiple trades across a wide range of construction activities.This position offers stable, long-term work on a high-profile federal infrastructure project.SCHEDULE & COMPENSATIONTypical schedule is Monday through Friday - approximately 40 hours per week, with overtime available based on project demands and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.This is a union position, and the successful candidate will become a member of the applicable Operating Engineers Local.Compensation includes:Union wage starting at $41.96+ per hour based on experienceOvertime payMedical / Prescription Drug InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePension PlanAdditional benefits provided through the collective bargaining agreementKEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Operating Mechanic - Cranes is primarily responsible for assembly, erection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of tower cranes that support heavy civil construction operations while ensuring safe and reliable functioning of the equipment at the project site.Responsibilities include:Assembly and erection of Tower Cranes at the project construction siteInspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing cranes on the project.Performing preventative maintenance on crane/hoisting equipment including tower, hydraulic, rough-terrain and lattice boom cranes.Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issuesCoordinating maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtimeMaintaining maintenance records and equipment service documentationEnsuring all equipment is maintained in compliance with company and USACE safety standardsSupervising and assisting service technicians as neededCoordinating with project supervision regarding equipment needs and repairsSupporting field operations by responding to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairsMaintaining safe and organized work areasThe Operating Mechanic - Cranes is expected to work independently and as part of the project team to maintain safe, reliable crane and hoisting equipment that support daily construction activities.QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONMinimum 5 years of crane/hoist experience, preferably in construction or industrial environmentsExperience installing and maintaining cranes of all types, preferred tower cranes.Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components related to cranes/hoists.Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic system failuresAbility to safely operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, and repair equipmentStrong problem-solving and communication skillsCommitment to maintaining safe work practicesAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical training in crane repair or heavy equipment maintenance preferredCompletion of a Union apprenticeship program or equivalent training preferredRecent and verifiable work history requiredWORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed outdoors on an active heavy civil construction site. Duties involve physical labor including lifting, climbing, bending, and working around heavy equipment and structural concrete operations.SAFETYThis is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis.
