The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Weber State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor starting July 1, 2027. We seek a person with teaching experience and expertise in organic chemistry.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will be appointed as a tenure-track Assistant Professor, and will be expected to:

• Teach undergraduate organic chemistry lectures and labs, as well as other courses based on the candidate's interest/expertise and department needs
• Establish an active and sustained research program with an emphasis on engaging undergraduate students in organic chemistry.
• Serve on department, college, and university committees.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field. ABD candidates considered if the degree is completed before July 2027.

• Proven dedication to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and inspire all students to achieve academic goals and build a foundation for future education.
• A commitment to research that leads to scholarly dissemination and the ability to integrate research interests into undergraduate-level projects.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
