Working alongside Staff Accountants, Senior Accountants, Managers, Principals, and Partners, you will develop technical skills, build professional confidence, and contribute to real client engagements.If you are looking for an internship that provides hands‑on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to grow, we invite you to join our team.Spring 2027 Internships (January - April)Tax InternshipSmall Business Advisory (SBA) InternshipAssurance InternshipSummer 2027 Internship (June - August)Assurance InternshipLocations: Albany, Buffalo, East Aurora (Spring Only), Rochester, and Syracuse.Work Arrangement: In‑person at one of our Upstate New York offices.Tax Internship (Spring 2027)Gain practical experience in tax planning, preparation, and client service while working with a variety of individual and business clients.What You'll DoPrepare individual, small business, and corporate tax returnsAssist with tax research and planning projectsAnalyze financial information and supporting documentationCollaborate with experienced tax professionals on client engagementsLearn how public accounting professionals deliver exceptional client serviceExpected Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week.Small Business Advisory (SBA) Internship (Spring 2027)Experience the day‑to‑day accounting and advisory services that help small businesses succeed.What You'll DoAssist with bookkeeping and accounting functionsSupport financial statement compilationsPrepare and review client financial informationLearn small business tax preparation processesWork directly with accounting professionals serving a diverse client baseDevelop an understanding of advisory services and client relationshipsExpected Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week.Assurance Internship (Available Spring and/or Summer 2027)Explore the audit and assurance profession through hands‑on projects and meaningful client work.What You'll DoThe Efficiency Center, working on specialized projects that showcase the industries we serveForm 990 preparation and review supportEmployee Benefit Plan (EBP) engagementsTechnical Accounting Standards Update (ASU) projectsInnovation initiatives focused on improving processes and client serviceYear‑end audit engagements alongside experienced Assurance professionalsThroughout the internship, you will gain exposure to the audit process, develop technical accounting knowledge, and build skills that prepare you for a successful career in public accounting.Expected Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week in the Spring, approximately 36 hours per week in the Summer.QualificationsActive enrollment in an accredited bachelor's or master's in accounting programCoursework that supports progress toward the requirements for CPA eligibilityStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and analytical abilitiesAttention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsPassion for client service and continuous learningWhat You Can ExpectMeaningful, hands‑on accounting experienceDirect access to experienced professionals and firm leadershipTraining and mentorship programsExposure to diverse industries and client engagementsOpportunities to build your professional networkA collaborative and inclusive cultureA potential pathway to future internships and full‑time career opportunitiesSalary: The rate of pay for this role is $22/hour.Hours Of OperationOur office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.Our summer hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.At The Bonadio Group, we believe that an inclusive work environment allows all of our people to achieve their greatest potential and the greatest results for our clients and communities.
