Position Description

Seneca Resources is seeking an experienced Senior User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Tester to support fraud systems testing, system enhancements, application releases, defect resolution, and business initiatives. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented testing professional with strong hands-on experience in manual UAT, test case development, test data management, and automation-assisted testing.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring system changes meet business requirements and deliver expected outcomes before implementation. Working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and automation teams, you will validate test results, assess evidence, identify defects, and support release readiness.

This position follows a blended testing approach that combines hands-on manual testing with automation-assisted execution. While automated tools may execute repeatable steps and capture screenshots or other evidence, the UAT Tester is responsible for independently validating business outcomes, determining final test results, and performing additional manual validation when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain UAT test plans, test cases, test scripts, test scenarios, and supporting documentation.

• Review business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Design structured, repeatable, and reusable test cases with clearly defined preconditions, test data, account requirements, expected results, and validation checkpoints.

• Create, configure, condition, maintain, and validate test accounts and test data to support business testing scenarios.

• Troubleshoot test-account configuration, test-data availability, and other issues that prevent successful test execution.

• Perform hands-on manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Validate system enhancements, application releases, defect fixes, and new business initiatives before implementation.

• Develop automation-ready test cases and reusable regression testing assets to improve testing efficiency and consistency.

• Review screenshots and other evidence generated through automated test execution to verify expected business outcomes.

• Independently determine test dispositions, including Pass, Fail, Blocked, or Requires Additional Validation.

• Perform additional manual testing when automated results are incomplete, inconclusive, or insufficient to establish business acceptance.

• Identify, document, track, retest, and validate defects, discrepancies, and system issues.

• Maintain traceability across business requirements, test cases, test data, execution results, supporting evidence, and defects.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, automation engineers, and project teams throughout the testing lifecycle.

• Support defect triage, release readiness assessments, and post-implementation validation activities.

• Maintain accurate testing records and evidence in accordance with applicable governance, compliance, and audit requirements.

• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, test-case quality, repeatability, automation readiness, and overall testing processes.

• Communicate testing progress, risks, blockers, defects, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required Skills/Education

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

• 5-10 years of experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Quality Assurance (QA), business validation, or software testing.

• Proven experience developing and executing UAT test plans, test cases, test scripts, and comprehensive testing scenarios.

• Strong hands-on experience in functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Ability to translate business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria into effective test scenarios and measurable validation steps.

• Experience creating and conditioning test accounts and test data, including configuring account states, attributes, prerequisites, and business conditions.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot test-data and test-account issues independently.

• Experience designing reusable, repeatable, and automation-ready test cases.

• Ability to evaluate test results and supporting evidence and independently determine whether business requirements have been satisfied.

• Experience documenting defects, test results, risks, and evidence using test management and defect-tracking tools.

• Understanding of automated testing concepts and experience supporting blended manual and automation-assisted UAT processes.

• Ability to review automated test evidence, including screenshots, and identify when additional manual validation is required.

• Understanding of the distinction between successful automated execution and successful business outcome validation.

• Ability to identify suitable automation opportunities while recognizing scenarios that require manual testing and human judgment.

• Experience working in Agile and project-based environments while managing multiple concurrent testing initiatives.

• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently, collaborate across business and technical teams, and communicate testing risks and recommendations effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting fraud prevention systems, fraud operations, financial services, banking, or risk management applications.

• Experience testing complex enterprise applications, system integrations, application enhancements, and production releases.

• Familiarity with automated testing tools, frameworks, and automation-assisted UAT workflows.
