All regular employees at the time of employment will be placed on the first step of the appropriate salary range and salary schedule.

Special Requirements

Employment is contingent upon meeting the requirements of Los Rios Board Regulation R-8343, including possessing, at time of hire, and maintaining a valid California Drivers License at time of hire. This position may require operating a District or personal vehicle in order to complete assigned work within the scope of the position duties. Within six months of hire, obtain and maintain a forklift operator certificate. Any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a medical evaluation.

Position Summary

Under supervision of assigned supervisor/manager, pick up and deliver mail, supplies, equipment, and furniture; to assist with inventories, maintenance and minor repairs; to perform custodial services as needed; perform duties of district courier as needed.

Typical Duties

Drive various sized vehicles to make deliveries districtwide; assist in filling requisitions; load books, supplies, equipment and furniture for surplus sales and storage; pick up and deliver mail according to a prescribed schedule; operate a forklift in loading and unloading material; perform minor repairs and assist with warehouse maintenance; pick up and deliver maintenance materials to job sites on campus; monitor gasoline and oil consumption and inventory; maintain general appearance of maintenance yard inside and outside of fenced area daily cleaning of restrooms, trash disposal and maintenance of general appearance of shop/receiving room and common areas. Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: One year of experience related to the duties of the position.

(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement. Education Requirement: One year of education is equal to 30 semester units.)

Education must be from an accredited institution.

To calculate this position's FTE, take the number of hours per week divided by 40, to get the percentage of hours worked. Then take the number of months worked divided by 12, to get the percentage of work year. Then take the percentage of hours worked multiplied by the percentage of months worked to get the position's FTE (e.g., a position that is 30 hours per week with a work year of 10 months: 30/40 = 0.75; 10/12 = 0.8333; 0.75 * 0.8333 = 0.625 FTE).
