About the Role:

Alloy is seeking a curious, thoughtful UX/UI Designer with 1–3 years of experience to join our team full-time. Our ideal candidate is passionate about understanding people and turning what they learn into intuitive, beautiful digital experiences. They bring strong UX fundamentals, an eye for polished UI, and an eagerness to grow through collaboration and feedback.

You’ll work primarily on websites and e-commerce experiences, with opportunities to explore web applications, mobile apps, and other digital experiences as client needs evolve. From research and user flows to wireframes, prototypes, and final interface designs, you’ll help connect user needs with business goals.

You’ll execute within an established design direction and own smaller projects with guidance from experienced teammates. You’ll also conduct research and usability testing with support and oversight, translate findings into design improvements, and share the thinking behind your work. A portfolio that shows your process, problem-solving, and UX/UI design skills is essential.

Must-haves

• Insatiable curiosity and a habit of asking thoughtful questions
• 1–3 years of experience in UX/UI design or a closely related role
• A portfolio that demonstrates user-centered thinking, clear design rationale, and strong visual fundamentals
• Ability to translate business requirements and user needs into thoughtful design solutions with guidance
• Ability to create user flows, information architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
• Experience conducting UX research and usability testing with support, identifying patterns, and applying findings to improve designs
• Strong UI design skills, including typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy
• Understanding of responsive design and how experiences adapt across desktop, tablet, and mobile
• Familiarity with accessibility principles and the ability to apply them to design decisions
• Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, and prototyping
• Ability to work within established design systems and maintain consistency across an experience
• Ability to explain design decisions clearly to teammates and clients, with support as needed
• A collaborative approach to working with designers, strategists, developers, and other teammates
• Openness to feedback and a willingness to explore, iterate, and refine your work
• Ability to manage assigned work, communicate progress, and take ownership of smaller projects with guidance
• Attention to detail when preparing designs for development and reviewing the finished experience

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing websites or e-commerce experiences
• Experience working in an agency or across multiple client projects
• Familiarity with competitive/comparative audits, heuristic analysis, or stakeholder interviews
• Experience using analytics or behavior tools, such as Google Analytics or HotJar, to inform design decisions
• Experience supporting discovery sessions or design thinking workshops
• Experience in UX content writing
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Miro
• Experience working within a scrum/agile environment
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS and how design decisions translate into development
