Description
Status: Seasonal, (Full Time, Part-Time or Hybrid with Retail/Demo Work) Start Time: ~7:15 AM The Van Driver is responsible for transporting ski equipment-including skis, boots, and accessories-between our Wasatch location in Cottonwood Heights and three Powder House Ski Shop locations at Alta. This role ensures each location receives overnight-tuned skis and has the equipment needed throughout the day. This position can either be a full time driving position or potentially a hyprid position with 1-2 days per week as a Van Driver, with the option to pick up additional shifts in our retail or demo shop depending on availability and interest. The driver will carry a radio to coordinate mid-day store-to-store transfers and will return any skis needing overnight tuning back down to the Wasatch location by 5:00 PM.Key ResponsibilitiesShuttle OperationsDrive a company van between designated ski shops Follow daily routes and timelines for morning and evening transfers Use a radio to coordinate mid-day transfers between Alta locationsEquipment HandlingLoad, secure, and unload skis and accessories safely Organize deliveries based on shop proceduresInventory CoordinationConfirm equipment matches internal transfer records Communicate with retail staff to ensure inventory is transferred in the system Report inventory discrepancies or equipment issuesRetail/Demo Support (Optional Hybrid Role)Assist on the sales floor or in the demo shop during non-driving shiftsTrain as a retail associate or rental tech to support shop operations Learn tuning basics to help prep and organize equipmentVehicle CareComplete daily van inspections and basic maintenance checks Keep vehicle clean and organized Report mechanical issues promptlySafety & ComplianceFollow traffic laws and safety protocols, especially in snowy, mountain driving conditions Maintain a clean driving record Drive cautiously in winter canyon conditionsDocumentationLog mileage, deliveries, and pickups Complete any required paperwork related to inventory transfers QualificationsValid driver's license with clean driving record Comfortable driving in snowy mountain conditions Strong communication, time management, and organization Able to lift 50 lbs and be able to stand on your feet and walk up and down stairsPrior delivery, shuttle, or ski industry experience is a plus Interest in hybrid work: driving + retail or demo shop support This is a great position for someone looking for variety, flexibility, and a behind-the-scenes role in a fast-paced ski shop environment.
