The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Voluntary-Personal Trainer assists member-clients in establishing and reaching their fitness/wellness goals by developing a safe and effective class and providing guidance in proper exercise technique. Seeking highly qualified, certified instructors to lead voluntary personal training classes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating effective client programs to achieve fitness and wellness goals based on client assessment and need.
  • Responsible for performing exercises in compliance with the safety protocols of the Department and University.
  • Assist the Director of Fitness and Wellness, Assistant Director of Physical Education create a class schedule to be offered to the student and staff population.
  • Provide excellent customer service and may respond to general inquiries as appropriate.
  • Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to NCAA, Ivy League Conference, University, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education rules and regulations and Code of Ethics.
  • Work collaboratively within and across the Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education department and University to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree and/or its equivalent required.
  • Must possess the ability to lead a variety of personal training/group exercise class formats for our multi-generational student/staff population.
  • Instructors must be prompt, reliable, and able to follow departmental procedures.
  • Current CPR/AED/ First Aid are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nationally recognized personal training certification, small group training certification, and/or group fitness instructor certification combined with group instructor experience, or certification in specific format is strongly preferred.

  • Flexible availability, particularly mornings, late afternoons, and/or weekends is appreciated/preferred.
