Varsity Golf Head Coach

The Varsity Golf Head Coach at King Philip Regional High School (Wrentham, MA) oversees the interscholastic high school golf program. The role focuses on developing student-athletes in golf fundamentals, course strategy, and sportsmanship while ensuring adherence to MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association) guidelines, Hockomock League standards, and district policies. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Player Development: Plan and direct daily practice sessions, teach golf rules, swing mechanics, course management, and competitive strategies. Match Management & Supervision: Manage team lineup selections, organize match logistics at host golf courses, and supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, and team travel. Sportsmanship & Leadership: Promote sportsmanship, academic accountability, character development, and team integrity consistent with education-based athletics. Administrative & Safety Duties: Maintain team rosters, track equipment/uniform inventory, enforce academic eligibility standards, and follow district safety procedures. Requirements & Clearances Background Checks: Satisfactory state and federal background clearances, including CORI, SORI, and fingerprinting Certifications: Current CPR / AED / First Aid certification. Mandatory Training: Completion of required NFHS/MIAA coaching credentials (e.g., Implicit Bias,Concussion in Sports). Preferred Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor''s degree preferred). Minimum 2 years of coaching experience (prior high school head coaching experience preferred). Deep knowledge of USGA rules of golf, etiquette, match play, and stroke play formats.
