Vascular Surgeon – Full‑Time Contract

Location: Wilkes Barre, PA Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Contract Type: Full‑Time | Long‑Term Contract 

Overview

This full‑time contract role offers an excellent opportunity for a Vascular Surgeon (MD/DO) to provide comprehensive vascular care in a supportive environment serving Veterans. The position includes predictable weekday clinic hours, strong clinical team support, and long‑term contract stability. Candidates will work alongside experienced staff, including PA‑C support and dedicated nursing teams.

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate degree
• 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
  • Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
• Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration

ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:

• Medical Doctor (MD)
• Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

ANY of the following:

• Board Eligible
• Board Certified

ANY of the following:

• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
• American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ARC ALS)
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

ANY of the following:

• American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide vascular surgery services including outpatient clinic visits, inpatient consults, operating room procedures, and emergency consults
• Manage approximately 50 clinic patients per week
• Perform 10–15 vascular procedures per month
• Collaborate with experienced clinical staff, including PA‑C support and dedicated nursing teams
• Participate in call coverage:
  • Phone availability within 15 minutes
  • Onsite arrival within 60 minutes if called back
• Utilize three operating rooms and clinic scheduling support to deliver high‑quality patient care

Schedule & Shift Details

• Monday–Friday clinical schedule
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM clinic hours
• 41 weeknight call shifts annually
• 9 weekend call assignments annually
• On‑call callback approximately once per week
