VACANT POSITION Vehicle Operator Sanitation Department Job Purpose To operate sanitation trucks to carry and dump solid waste and carboard materials. Drives truck on routes to pick up refuse and delivers to landfill . Assists the crew with the collection of solid waste and carboard materials . Shuttles refuse trailers to crews collecting refuse and delivers to landfill or processing center . Collects and turns in tipping sheets . Cleans and clears areas of trash as requested. Operates vehicles such as shuttle trucks knuckle boom loaders solid waste trucks and related equipment . Maintains assigned truck in good working condition checks fluids and makes general inspection reports unsafe conditions . Performs exceptional service to internal and external customers . Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to work with the publ ic. Ability to operate and utilize various equipment and supplies including pitchfork bush ax etc. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team . Willingness to work in all weather conditions . Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent with some experience in outside work or any combination of education training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. Must p ossess a valid SC Class A D rivers License .
