Assistant State Wildlife Veterinarian
The incumbent must be a veterinarian licensed by and in good standing with the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine or have the ability to be licensed within 60 days following acceptance of this position as a term of employment. The incumbent must also be registered with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency to handle Schedule 2/2N, 3/3N, 4 and 5 controlled and dangerous drugs, or the ability to be registered within 60 days following acceptance of this position as a term of employment. Additionally, the incumbent should be credentialed as a Category II Accredited Veterinarian under the USDA National Veterinary Accreditation Program. This is an Exempt Position under the Federal Wage and Hour Laws.
This position represents a major subset of the Wildlife Health and Disease Program, and as such receives programmatic supervision from the State Wildlife Veterinarian.
This is a statewide position that will be domiciled in one of the following LDWF field offices: Hammond, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Minden, Monroe or Pineville. The position may also be domiciled at LDWF Headquarters in Baton Rouge. Domicile will be determined upon selection of the candidate.
