The Hospital
This long-established, community-trusted small-animal practice provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, with some pocket pets and exotics. The team delivers wellness and preventive medicine, vaccinations, dental care, diagnostics and imaging, soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery, urgent and emergency care, oncology options, behavioral counseling, and on-site pharmacy services.

The Role
- Provide clinical leadership, set medical standards, and champion best practices in patient care
- Deliver a broad caseload across wellness and preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics, soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery, and urgent cases
- Oversee and mentor veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to strengthen skills and collaboration
- Elevate client communication and education to build long-term relationships
- Partner with practice leadership on scheduling, workflow optimization, quality assurance, and compliance
- Support services that include oncology options and behavioral counseling
- Serve a primarily canine and feline population with some pocket pets and exotics

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited program
- Current California veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Previous experience as a Medical Director, Lead Veterinarian, Chief of Staff, or senior clinician preferred
- Proficiency in general practice medicine, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery; orthopedic experience welcomed
- Strong leadership, team-building, and client communication skills
- Compassionate, patient- and client-centered approach to care
