The Role
- Serve as the clinical leader of the hospital, setting and upholding medical quality standards
- Provide hands-on patient care across wellness, dentistry, soft-tissue surgery, and day-time urgent cases
- Mentor, coach, and develop veterinarians and support staff; lead regular doctor meetings and case reviews
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture centered on patient safety, client trust, and team well-being
- Partner with the Practice Manager on workflow optimization, staffing, scheduling, and operational priorities
- Oversee medical record quality, patient safety initiatives, and consistency of care
- Support inventory management and appropriate use of medical equipment
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including controlled substance management and radiation safety
- Engage with the local community to strengthen client relationships and access to care
- Participate in a schedule that may include Saturday coverage as part of clinic hours

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Active or eligible California veterinary license
- DEA license (or eligibility)
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Strong clinical skills in general practice; comfortable with dentistry and soft-tissue surgery
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferred (Lead Veterinarian, Chief of Staff, or Medical Director)
- Excellent communication skills and a client-centered approach
