The Role
- Provide medical leadership for a local group of hospitals in partnership with practice managers
- Coach, develop, and retain associate veterinarians; lead onboarding and structured mentorship
- Validate clinical quality through medical record reviews, case discussions, audits, and patient-safety reviews
- Deliver clinical care part of each week, including wellness, dentistry, and routine surgical procedures
- Champion preventive care and client education; address escalated client concerns to resolution
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including controlled substance management and radiation safety
- Manage medical equipment needs and inventory with hospital leadership
- Track key medical and operational metrics and execute action plans to meet goals
- Partner with talent teams on recruiting, externships, and student engagement
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture
This is a full-time, hospital-based working manager position.
Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Active New Jersey veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- DEA license eligibility
- Proven clinical proficiency, including routine soft-tissue surgery and dentistry
- Leadership experience in a multi-doctor setting preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and comfort with practice software
- Authorization to work in the United States
