Role at a Glance
- Position: Doctor’s Assistant – Veterinary Surgery
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Shifts: Four or five weekday day shifts
- Experience: At least two years of recent veterinary experience

What You’ll Do
- Coordinate surgical consultations, procedures, recheck appointments, and related documentation.
- Guide clients through pre-operative preparation, discharge, recovery, medications, and aftercare.
- Perform phone triage for prospective surgical patients and help determine appropriate next steps.
- Prepare patient estimates and invoices, fill prescriptions, and coordinate pharmacy orders.
- Communicate with referring veterinarians and obtain medical records needed for continuity of care.
- Follow up with surgical patients after discharge and provide daily updates to families of hospitalized patients.
- Partner closely with surgeons and surgery technicians to support excellent patient outcomes.
- Assist with appointments, inventory, and ordering as needed.

Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or GED and at least two years of recent veterinary experience.
- Preferred: Previous surgery or specialty veterinary experience.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week, scheduled across four or five weekday day shifts.

Pay range: $19.00 - $25.00/hr based on experience
