Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

Job Summary: 

Our Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians play an essential role in providing exceptional care to some of our most complex patients. Working closely alongside the Internist, you’ll take ownership of the flow of the day—anticipating what comes next, keeping appointments and procedures moving, coordinating diagnostics and treatments, maintaining accurate medical records, and helping ensure both patients and clients receive an exceptional level of care.

This is a role for an experienced veterinary technician who loves medicine and loves to learn. Our ideal candidate is curious, seeks to understand the why behind what they’re doing, learns quickly, and is excited by the opportunity to continually expand their knowledge and technical abilities.

You should bring a strong foundation in veterinary medicine, including medical terminology, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, patient care, and advanced technical and nursing skills. Just as importantly, you’re a self-starter who can recognize what needs to happen and take action without waiting to be asked—while also having the confidence and good judgment to ask questions or seek guidance when you don’t know something.

Internal Medicine can be busy, complex, and occasionally unpredictable. Successful technicians on this team are able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities, adapt when the day changes, and remain calm and focused under pressure. You’ll work closely with doctors, clients, and teammates with different personalities and communication styles, so professionalism, resilience, clear communication, and a team-first mindset are essential.

Job Requirements:

• At least 2 years of recent experience in veterinary practice
• Demonstrated proficiency in routine veterinary technical procedures, including IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, sample collection, injection administration, proper patient restraint, and the safe and effective use of common veterinary medical equipment.
• Leads with empathy and compassion. Treats every patient with kindness and respect while providing clients with thoughtful, professional, and exceptional service.
• Is a strong and respectful communicator. Communicates clearly and professionally with clients, doctors, and teammates and is comfortable navigating different personalities, communication styles, and challenging situations.
• Is dependable and punctual, consistently arriving for scheduled shifts on time and ready to contribute to the team and patient care.
