What Veterinary Technicians Do
- Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations and procedures
- Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient appointments
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dentistry
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing
- Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures
- Educate clients regarding medications, preventive care, and treatment plans
- Maintain clean, organized surgery suites, treatment areas, and exam rooms
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation
- Collaborate with teammates to provide exceptional patient care every day
What Veterinary Technicians Bring
- Previous veterinary technician experience
- Strong patient handling and nursing skills
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
- Knowledge of laboratory diagnostics and sample collection
- Excellent communication and client education skills
