Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate weekendSwing shift (12pm-12am)/Overnight (7p-7A) Veterinarian Technician to join the team at our successful Hospital. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. At least 1 yr of vet assistant/tech. experience is required. Responsibilities
- Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic
- working with emergency and hospitalized patients
- Anesthesia monitoring and assisting doctor with surgery
- Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history
- Take vital signs, acquire blood samples, place IV catheters
- Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery
- Must be able to work in fast-paced environment and able to Multi-task
- Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients
- Keep accurate patient records
- Answering phones
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 yr. experience as a Veterinary Technician preferably in Emergency care
- Must be able to place IV catheters and draw blood
- Emergency care experience
- Anesthesia and Surgery assisting experience
- Knowledge of animal care and handling
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
- Patience and a love for animals
- Dependable and must work well with others

Hospital DirectorDr. Glyne K. Greenidge a Veterinarian and Clinical scientists now leads the hospital. He grew up caring for a variety of species of animals; in fact, some of his first memories as a child involved caring for animals. His passion for animals and interest in veterinary medicine existed from a tender age. He focused on the sciences and worked hard to achieve his goal of becoming a veterinarian. He earned his doctorate in Veterinary medicine from St. George’s university in 2012 after completing a clinical year at the University of Georgia. He is a member of the only honor society of veterinary medicine in the United States, Phi Zeta. He is dedicated to ensuring Hudspeth Animal Hospital will provide the best quality pet care to every pet that comes through our doors.
