The Asia Group (TAG) is now accepting applications for a Vice President to join our energy team based in Washington, DC.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., The Asia Group ("TAG") is a strategic and capital advisory firm that positions clients - ranging from Fortune 100 multinationals to innovative startups - for success in established and emerging markets across the Indo-Pacific region. The Vice President will be an integral member of TAG's growing energy practice, which manages client engagements across every country market and works closely with teams based in Asia and Washington, DC. A strong candidate will be highly motivated and have a strong grasp of business fundamentals, energy policy, and geopolitics in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as the ability to advise clients on the politics and geopolitics of energy, economic security, and supply chain issues in the Indo-Pacific. The Vice President will play a key role in driving opportunities for the firm, including through leadership on client management, business development, and strategy execution to help energy companies navigate the U.S. and Indo-Pacific markets. The Vice President will work under the guidance of the DC-based partner leading the energy practice and be expected to bring an innovative and proactive approach to shape and grow the role.

  • Support energy practice partner in servicing global clients through project management and execution of high-value-add deliverables
  • Manage and develop high-quality executive memos, PowerPoint presentations, briefing materials, and other written products for clients and internal audiences, along with the Korea Practice members, often within a tight turnaround time
  • Proactively and diligently manage client accounts
  • Actively participate in regular client engagements, including briefing sessions and workshops, alongside partners and senior staff
  • Contribute to TAG business development objectives, including identifying opportunities, developing proposals, and conducting outreach
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust network of relevant stakeholder relationships in Washington, DC and Asia
  • Contribute to thought leadership activities, representing TAG at conferences, think tank events, and industry-government gatherings
  • Advanced degree (e.g. MA/MBA/MPP) and 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably including client servicing and/or government experience, with networks in public and private sectors
  • Understanding of global energy markets and Asian political, regulatory, and macroeconomic landscapes, as well as the ability to convert these insights into actionable strategies and recommendations for commercial stakeholders
  • Highly skilled in project management and strong communicator, demonstrated by the ability to present in a polished and effective manner to business executives and other senior level interlocutors in multinational settings
  • Competency in using AI tools and platforms to enhance efficiency, innovation, and excellence
  • Effective leader and team player with high emotional intelligence and a positive, proactive, and professional attitude; eager for professional growth and open to gaining new skills and expertise
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility with respect to working and communication hours, particularly when coordinating with clients and TAG team members located across the Indo-Pacific.

We value professionals who are proactive in exploring new ways to work smarter. Ideal candidates will be comfortable using artificial intelligence tools - or excited to learn how - to increase efficiency, enhance analysis or deliverables, and generate innovative solutions. Familiarity with generative AI platforms or a growth mindset toward emerging technologies is a plus.

Candidates must be eligible to work in United States and are expected to work in-person at the TAG Washington, DC office five days per week.

TAG provides competitive benefits with regular training opportunities available to its employees. For this role, TAG offers a salary of $100,000-$110,000 with eligibility for a discretionary end-of-year bonus.
