Our esteemed client, a San Francisco-based food manufacturing organization, is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Administration.  Qualified candidates are requested to submit their interest based on the following requirements:
 
Position Location:        San Francisco, CA (Headquarters)
 
Position Summary:
The Vice-President of Finance and Administration will be reporting to the company’s President for all long-range financial and administrative matters. The position will also be responsible for establishing company-wide financial and administrative objectives, policies, programs, and practices, which insure the company of a continuously sound financial and operational structure.
The Vice-President of Finance and Administration will supervise the Accounting Department personnel including the Corporate Controller, Divisional Controller and two Corporate Accountants for A/R, A/P, etc. and have direct communication with all the company’s branches.
The ideal candidate has experience working in manufacturing environment.
 
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Accounting and Finance functions
  • GL responsibilities: oversee close monthly general ledger, generate reports including informative and clearly stated analysis
  • Responsible for all financial statements, audits and tax filings
  • Inventory management and review, pricing, inventory analysis
  • Fixed assets control, property taxes and reporting
  • Banking relationships; maintain adequate sources for the company’s current borrowings from commercial banks and other lending institutions.
  • Cash flow management
  • Oversee AR and AP functions
  • Government related reporting and general insurance
  • Approve all agreements concerning financial obligations, such as contracts for products and services
HR and Administration functions
  • Oversee all payroll function; benefits and payroll administration, attendance and leaves of absence policy administration, compensation/salary administration, performance management, training, compliance;
  • Union negotiations and compliance
  • Pension plan (401k) control and compliance
  • Communication with and manage outside legal counsel
  • Business insurance, workers’ compensation and other insurance coverage
  • City and County compliance: taxes, health and welfare
  • NOAA reporting, Fish & Wildlife, Licenses
  • IT systems management, upgrades and telecommunication systems
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
  • Experience in manufacturing of at least five years is required.
  • Previous experience in accounting or finance of at least five years is required. 
  • CPA with public accounting experience of at least two years is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong leadership skills required.
  • Ability to communicate orally with management, co-workers, customers, vendors, unions, both individually and in front of a group is crucial.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Manufacturing Accounting Systems.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration experience preferred.
  • Experience in union workers environment preferred.
