Position Overview
Amatriot seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator to join our team in Key West, Florida. This position is onsite five days per week.
The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator manages and supports VDI environments, thin clients, endpoint configuration, master images, desktop pools, patching, security compliance, and related Windows infrastructure. This role works closely with engineering, cybersecurity, IT, and Service Desk teams to maintain reliable and secure virtual desktop services while troubleshooting user access, performance, connectivity, and software compatibility issues.
Key Responsibilities
VDI Administration and Support
- Manage the functionality and efficiency of computer systems running one or more operating systems.
- Maintain and support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environments.
- Work alongside engineering personnel to maintain and deploy VDI thin clients.
- Maintain and secure master images and desktop pools.
- Implement patches, updates, and configuration changes in coordination with cybersecurity and IT teams.
Endpoint Management and Compliance
- Work directly with SCCM/MECM to support patching and security compliance.
- Coordinate with the Service Desk to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Ensure supported VDI systems remain current, secure, and operational.
Troubleshooting and Performance Management
- Troubleshoot VDI-related issues, including user access, performance, connectivity, and software compatibility.
- Monitor system performance and usage to identify bottlenecks, failure points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and user experience.
Customer and Technical Support
- Interface directly with customers to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, IT, and Service Desk teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. [Required]
- A high school diploma and 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the required bachelor’s degree.
- An associate degree and 2 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the required bachelor’s degree.
- A master’s degree may be considered equivalent to 2 additional years of experience.
- A PhD may be considered equivalent to 4 additional years of experience.
Experience
- 10+ years of overall IT experience in system administration or related technical roles. [Required]
- 5+ years of direct experience supporting VDI environments. [Required]
- Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or another major VDI solution. [Required]
Skills
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals. [Required]

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with FSLogix and/or Horizon View Client.
- VMware Certified Professional, Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization, or related certification.
