Vocational Program Assistant

Sheppard Pratt School in Glyndon is a leading provider of year-round special education and therapeutic services, catering to students grades K-12. Our comprehensive program serves students with a range of needs, including autism, emotional disability, intellectual disabilities, other health impairments, specific learning disability, and speech or language impairment. What to expect.

You will provide pre-vocational experiences and coordinate arrangements for vocational work groups for students within the Sheppard Pratt School program.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Assisting in developing relationships for new jobs and internship sites on campus and within the community.
• Assessing students’ vocational strengths and opportunities for growth to identify the appropriate work settings and groups.
• Providing students with job training and developing skills for specific job tasks.

The pay range for this position is $18.50-$24.09/hour. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education and years and level of related experience.

What we need from you.

• One of the following combinations of education and experience:
  • Associate degree in a mental health related field and 1 year of work experience.
  • 3 years of related work experience resulting in knowledge of clinical terminology and diagnosis to effectively communicate with treatment teams.
• Must meet Sheppard Pratt’s requirements to operate a company vehicle:
  • Be 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Driving record with 2 points or less for the 3 most recent years of driving history.
