Volunteer

Hospital Volunteers at Murray Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) support the mission by providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare by assisting patients, visitors, and staff with non-clinical services. Volunteers enhance the hospital experience by offering exceptional customer service, operational support, and community engagement while upholding MCCH values, policies, and standards of care. Must be at least 18 years old.

Essential Functions

• Greet patients and visitors and assist with wayfinding and general inquiries• Serve at information desks, welcome areas, or waiting rooms• Deliver non-clinical items such as flowers, mail, or comfort supplies• Transport patients by wheelchair, as assigned and trained• Provide companionship and emotional support as appropriate• Assist departments with clerical or administrative support• Support hospital-sponsored events or special projects• Communicate concerns to appropriate hospital staff• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills• Professional appearance and conduct• Dependable and punctual• Ability to follow instructions• Willingness to complete screenings and training• Support the mission and values of MCCH• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries• Do not provide medical advice or care• Represent MCCH positively in the community• Completion of MCCH Volunteer Orientation• Department-specific training• Annual compliance training• Ongoing adherence to hospital policies
