Position Summary:
The Vice President of Oncology will be responsible for the overall direction, leadership and growth of HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke’s and Rocky Mountain Children’s Oncology Services, including Colorado Blood Care Institute, Radiation Oncology, and Surgical Oncology services. Under general direction, assumes line responsibility and authority for the leadership, administrative managements, physician management, evaluation and coordination of the functions and activities of the operational and ancillary departments (if assigned) within the hospital organization to ensure operating objectives and results are in accord with overall all hospital strategy. Directly supervises Directors and Coordinators within the service. Works collaboratively with Business Development and other Service Line Leads for services that cross multiple platforms. Provides project support on an as-requested basis. Maintains 24-hour accountability.
Leads interdepartmental and campus-wide initiatives to achieve growth strategies, improvements in clinical care processes, team engagement, patient experience, volume and financial performance.
Directs the continuous strategic long- and short-range planning and service line development of oncological services
Proposes, develops, and implements new programs, services and access points
Recommends and implements innovative models geared towards growth
Provides strategic marketing and business plan development
Assesses, recruits and applies strategies to retain targeted physicians
Develops, implements, and evaluates programs to meet volume, profitability, quality, and service standards to drive value
Provides analysis of volumes including historical results and forecast projections to Administration.
Uses project management tools to plan, monitor and report on status of growth activities
Identifies, develops business cases for approval and manages implementation of capital planning projects
Collaborates with Marketing in the development and implementation of the annual Marketing Plan including any community outreach activities
Creates and maintains constructive relationships with affiliated organizations
Works in tandem with Nursing Leadership and administrative leadership to assure outstanding clinical quality, service excellence and operating performance.

Education: Masters’ Degree preferred.
Experience: Prefer 5-7 years of management experience.
