PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Position makes extensive use of computer and inventory software to oversee and participate in receiving, inspecting, recording, storing, issuing and re-issuing of parts, supplies and materials used by communications utility operations. Via telephone and computer, obtains estimates from vendors for materials, monitors consumption, and initiates orders. Leads and participates in unloading and loading of trucks and uses forklift as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of high school with experience in utility warehousing/operations and fiber optics communications materials and methods, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license required to apply.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Possession of valid Louisiana driver's license prior to hire.
• Must obtain certification for forklift operation within six months of appointment.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a written test.
