Job Description

 Responsibilities

  1. Receive and inspect incoming shipments of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  2. Verify the accuracy of received items by comparing them to purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies or damages.
  3. Sort, label, and store items in designated locations within the storeroom.
  4. Maintain accurate inventory records by updating stock levels and recording information such as item descriptions, quantities, and locations.
  5. Monitor stock levels and anticipate future needs to ensure adequate supply availability.
  6. Conduct regular inventory counts and perform periodic audits to reconcile physical stock with recorded inventory.
  7. Identify and report any expired, damaged, or low-quality items for proper disposal or replacement.
  8. Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the storeroom, ensuring that all items are stored in a safe and accessible manner.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to fulfill supply requests and ensure timely delivery of items.
  10. Prepare and pack items for shipping, ensuring proper documentation and labeling are in place.
  11. Follow established safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment within the storeroom.
  12. Keep abreast of industry trends, new products, and improvements in storage and inventory management practices.

 

Storeroom Attendant Required Skills

  1. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
  2. Excellent attention to detail to detect discrepancies and ensure the quality of received items.
  3. Proficient computer skills and experience with inventory management software.
  4. Good communication skills to liaise with suppliers, colleagues, and other departments.
  5. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy items.
  7. Problem-solving skills to resolve stock-related issues and implement process improvements.
  8. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in storeroom operations.

Required Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  2. Previous experience in a storeroom or warehouse environment is preferred.
  3. Familiarity with inventory management systems and procedures.
  4. Basic knowledge of MS Office applications, such as Excel and Word.
