Staff Management | SMX in Jackson, TN, is hiring Janitorial Associates to maintain cleanliness and upkeep throughout a food manufacturing facility, including restrooms, break rooms, offices, locker rooms, and common areas, while keeping hygiene stations stocked. Pay Rate: $17.00 - $18.25 / hour
Duties:
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, locker rooms, and break rooms, and restock soap, paper, and supplies
- Clean and sanitize tables, counters, microwaves, vending areas, and high-touch points such as door handles, handrails, and time clocks
- Empty trash and recycling and replace liners
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors and carpets, using wet-floor signs.
- Clean offices, corridors, stairwells, lobbies and interior glass
- Operate floor scrubbers, burnishers and other floor-care machines, and strip and refinish floors when scheduled (for Floor Tech role)
- Stock and clean hand-wash, sanitizing, and boot stations at production entrances, and test and record sanitizer levels (for Hygienic Station Attendant role)
- Keep entrances, sidewalks, dumpster areas, and the building perimeter clean, including litter removal and pressure washing
- Use approved cleaning chemicals safely, following labels and safety data sheets
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety rules at all times, including when working in walkways next to production
- Wear the required protective equipment, including slip-resistant footwear, gloves, and safety glasses
- Prevent slips, trips and falls, and follow lockout/tagout and workplace safety rules
- Keep tools, carts and equipment clean, color-coded and stored in the right place
- Complete restroom, zone, and cleaning checklists and logs accurately each shift
- Report maintenance issues, spills, pests, and safety hazards to a supervisor right away
