We are looking for a Warehouse Material Handler to join our team on 2nd Shift Mon-Fri 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

This job includes positions responsible for supervising or performing metals processing work and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations of materials, facilities and methods employed by Service Steel Aerospace in metals processing and distribution.

• Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
• Responsible for moving inventory or equipment, filling customer orders, pulling material from racks, unloading incoming material, loading trucks and/or customer vehicles, & helping maintain the upkeep of the warehouse.
• Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations.
• Pulls and assembles orders based on reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation.
• Tags material for proper identification and completes all required documentation.
• Moves material from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane.
• Operates Forklifts, Side Loaders, and Order pickers for the purpose of loading and unloading racks, trailers and containers.
• Operates Crane
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Sorts and places material on rack, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Spot checks on inventory, completes daily and/or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed.
• Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
• Retrieves material and transfers stock to band saws manually, with forklift, or by crane.
• Operates band saws and observes cutting operation.
• Installs saw blade in band saws and sets blade cutting speed for specified operation.
• Removal of band saw blades.
• Inputs data to set band saw parameters based on shop work order specifications.
• May manually position material using back stops in band saw.
• Measures work for conformance to specifications, using ruler, tape measure, and measuring calipers.

Function in the Job

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent minimum
• Ability to quickly learn multiple functions in a complex industry.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of operating industrial equipment, Band Saws preferred.
• Ability to communicate well with others.
• Good mathematical skills including measurements.
• Ability to use and read measuring equipment such as calipers and measuring tapes.
• Ability to be able to operate a crane.
• Ability to be able to operate a forklift.
• Self-motivated and can act on own initiative.
• Experienced working to targets and deadlines.
• Adaptable and have a positive attitude towards change.
• Motivated, communicative and goal oriented.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $21.00/Hr. - USD $36.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
