Warehouse Receiving/Cleanliness Associate

Position Summary/Objective:

Granite City Electric is looking to hire a Warehouse Receiving Associate for our Taunton, MA location. The Warehouse Receiving Associate will perform both perform both clerical and physical warehouse duties such as inventory management, receiving, storing, picking, cleaning, building maintenance, and shipment of materials.  Pay for this position is $21.00-$22.00 commensurate with experience. Additional details are listed below. 

Essential Functions

1. Moves material in a safe manner manually or by using forklift, pallet jack, handcart or another device.
2. Accurately counts, checks, prepares, and locates items being received or shipped.
3. Assists with the maintenance of inventory and the upkeep of the department.
4. Completes paperwork, documentation, and data input in accordance with established procedures.
5. Acquires and maintains current knowledge of GCE policies and procedures, general product knowledge, participates in training, and attends meetings as requested.
6. Acts in helpful and cooperative manner towards customers and co-workers.

7. Maintains the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, including regular trash removal, deep cleaning, and routine facility preservation tasks.

8. Ensures all warehouse aisles, pedestrian walkways, and high-traffic zones are completely clear of debris, spills, and clutter to uphold strict safety regulations and operational efficiency.

9. Safely and efficiently operates a ride-on floor sweeper/scrubber to clean large facility footprints. Perform basic, routine post-use equipment checks and maintenance.

10. Participates in processes and programs aimed at promoting a safe work environment.
11. Must acquire a working knowledge of the Eclipse software support system.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift between 70 lbs. - 125 lbs. on a repetitive and ongoing basis.
• Ability to walk/stand all day.
• Must be able to bend and stoop frequently.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of forklift operations and warehouse equipment preferred.
• Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above.
