Position Summary:
The Warehouse Receiving Lead supports and coordinates the daily activities of the Receiving team to ensure incoming materials, packages, purchase orders, transfers, returns, and inventory are received, processed, and put away accurately and efficiently.
This position serves as a hands-on operational Lead, providing daily work direction, resolving receiving and inventory issues, training team members, and ensuring employees have the information, documentation, and voyage barcodes necessary to complete assigned work. The Receiving Lead maintains strong knowledge of warehouse operations, company products, equipment, and Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. Also provides support for Shipping and other warehouse functions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Warehouse Receiving Lead:
Leadership & Team Support
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership and work direction to Receiving and Warehouse team members
- Assign and adjust daily work based on staffing, workload, inbound priorities, and operational needs
- Maintain and rotate assignments on the Receiving Job Board and provide coverage for absent team members as needed
- Train new hires and temporary employees on receiving, putaway, system transactions, equipment, safety practices, and department expectations
- Assist team members with troubleshooting receiving, inventory, product, and system-related issues
- Support adherence to warehouse procedures, safety requirements, productivity expectations, and OSG Warehouse Skills Matrix standards
Receiving & Inventory Operations
- Coordinate incoming shipment processing and provide the information and voyage barcodes required for receiving and putaway activities.
- Receive, unpack, inspect, verify, and accurately put away incoming materials and supplies
- Receive and process Purchase Orders, inventory transfers, Goods in Transit (GIT), Return Material Authorizations (RMAs), customer returns, and departmental packages
- Identify and report damages, shortages, overages, and other receiving discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement, inventory control, and record-keeping purposes
- Research and resolve Purchase Order, GIT, transfer, inventory, and other receiving discrepancies in coordination with accounting and appropriate departments
- Maintain accurate inbound records and administer the Receiving Log and related documentation
- Create and perform overstock audits and monitor warehouse heatmap information to identify and support inventory re-slotting opportunities
- Research misplaced inventory and assist with inventory corrections
- Identify products accurately using item numbers, packaging, labeling, and product knowledge
- Repackage and label products as required
Shipping & Warehouse Support
- Support Shipping operations as workload and staffing needs require, including picking orders and preparing packages for shipment
- Process international and special-item shipments and complete required shipping documentation
- Move materials throughout shipping and receiving areas using hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other authorized material-handling equipment. Load and unload trucks using appropriate warehouse equipment
Systems & Communication
- Maintain advanced working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as it relates to receiving, inventory, putaway, transfers, and shipping
- Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other business applications for communication, documentation, and reporting
- Communicate professionally with warehouse employees, supervisors, internal departments, carriers, and other business partners
- Read and understand work instructions, shipping and receiving documentation, safety information, and system information necessary to perform assigned responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications for the Warehouse Receiving Lead:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, inventory, or related environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse shipping, receiving, inventory, and material-handling procedures.
- Computer proficiency and ability to effectively use or learn warehouse management and ERP systems
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and respond to changing operational needs
- Ability to safely operate required warehouse equipment following appropriate training and authorization
Preferred Qualifications for the Warehouse Receiving Lead:
- Previous warehouse lead or similar operational leadership experience
- Experience training, coaching, or providing work directions to others
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience processing international shipments and resolving receiving or inventory discrepancies

Compensation:
- $22-$29 per hour depending on experience + Monthly bonus potential
Physical Working Demands:
The employee is regularly required to stand and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods, including approximately three to four hours at a time. Must be able to lift, carry, move, and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds and safely handle products, packages, tools, and warehouse equipment.
The position requires the ability to communicate effectively and hear workplace instructions and warnings. Required vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Environment:
The noise level in the warehouse environment is usually noisy. (Bell ringing, and heavy communication between co-workers, company paging system, trucks unloading at loading docks). Most of workplace is in a temperature-controlled environment with better than adequate lighting.
