Warehouse Receiving/ Material Handler

The starting pay for the position will be $19 per hour.
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m
Central Islip location. 

 

Computer and RF scanning experience is especially important for this position, so we want to make sure we are getting candidates who are comfortable with that side of the job in addition to the warehouse and forklift experience.

Warehouse Receiving / Material Handler – Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Warehouse Associate to join our team full-time.

This position combines RF scanning, computer work, inventory receiving, warehouse equipment operation, and physical labor. Previous fast-paced warehouse experience is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Use RF scanners and computer systems to update inventory
• Receive, scan, tag, and process inbound shipments
• Read and verify packing lists, labels, and receiving documents
• Match physical inventory to packing lists and report discrepancies or damaged/missing materials
• Operate forklifts and cherry pickers/order pickers
• Move, stage, and organize inventory throughout the warehouse
• Load and unload trucks and floor-loaded containers
• Handle heavy rolls up to 60 lbs and other warehouse materials
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures and work effectively both independently and as part of a team

 

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience required
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• RF scanner experience required
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn inventory/warehouse management systems
• Ability to accurately scan barcodes, enter information, and process inventory
• Ability to read and understand packing lists and warehouse documents
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
• Hands-on experience operating forklifts and cherry pickers/order pickers
• Comfortable with physical warehouse work, including unloading floor-loaded containers
• Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment

 

Important Note

Prioritize candidates with strong computer and RF scanner experience. RF scanning, barcode scanning, and accurate inventory receiving are the primary functions of this position. Forklift experience is important, but we are not looking for someone whose experience is limited to operating a forklift.
