The Cable Technician is responsible for testing and repairing cable, preparing cable orders, and processing cable department returns to support live production operations.
Your day will look like this:
- Examine equipment lists for tours and pull all cabling orders
- Determine if cable is damaged and clearly mark items for repair
- Coordinate order preparation priorities alongside the Warehouse Manager
- Prepare, fill, and receive orders in the R2 inventory system
- Customize equipment based on customer purchase orders when required
- Complete equipment lists in the R2 software
- Modify equipment orders based on availability
- Ensure all equipment shipped to planned locations is in good condition
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department
- Report damaged or missing items to the supervisor
- Track inventories, kits, cable assembly bundles, and related materials
- Respond to questions and issues from technicians, coordinators, and road crews
- Clean and visually inspect returned equipment
- Clean, label, and inventory cabling
- Follow company and industry quality standards for preparation
- Other duties as assigned
Your profile:
- Less than one (1) year of experience in production equipment rentals/operations
- Experience in cabling or electrics is considered an asset
- Degree in audiovisual or electronics field is considered an asset
- Knowledge of inventory software preferred
- Knowledge of Office365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of cable types used in the live entertainment production industry preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks within tight deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
- Strong customer service skills
- Forklift certification preferred
