Warehouse Worker

Location: Fountain Valley, CA

Reports To: Warehouse Lead / Shop Supervisor 

Job Summary 

Symtech Fire is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Worker to support daily warehouse and manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for receiving and shipping materials, loading and unloading deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, preparing products for shipment, and keeping the warehouse organized and safe. 

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a hands-on environment, can safely operate material-handling equipment, and works well with team members to ensure materials and products are handled accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities 

• Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment. 

• Perform daily inspections of material-handling equipment and report maintenance needs or safety concerns to the Warehouse Lead or Shop Supervisor. 

• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other assigned equipment, as authorized. 

• Receive, inspect, count, and verify incoming materials and deliveries for accuracy and completeness. 

• Record incoming and outgoing material transactions in the inventory system. 

• Load and unload trailers, trucks, and delivery vehicles. 

• Build pallets, secure materials, and prepare products for shipment. 

• Count, measure, organize, and track inventory to maintainaccurate stock records. 

• Assist with inventory checks and report discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing materials. 

• Use hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and other equipment to prepare materials and verify dimensions as needed. 

• Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly warehouse and shop environment. 

• Coordinate with warehouse personnel, drivers, and supervisors to support daily operations. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills and Abilities: 

• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic woodworking equipment. 

• Basic computer skills and the ability to enter and maintain inventory records. 

• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely, with appropriate training and authorization. 

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 

• Ability to read measurements and use tape measures and other measuring tools accurately. 

• Effective communication and teamwork skills. 

• Dependability and willingness to assist with various warehouse and shop duties. 

Qualifications and Education: 

• High school diploma or GED preferred. 

• Previous warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience preferred. 

• Previous forklift experience preferred. 

• Ability to learn company procedures and safely operate assigned equipment. 

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday. 

• Ability to load and unload materials and move products using appropriate equipment. 

• Ability to work safely in a warehouse and manufacturing shop environment. 

Compensation and Benefits 

• Hourly Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. 

• Overtime opportunities as applicable. 

• Paid holidays.
