Entry Level Warehouse Worker

Job Description

This role involves performing a variety of warehouse and shipping tasks, including unloading and loading trucks, handling materials, palletizing, and wrapping products. You will support daily operations by safely moving equipment and products, maintaining an organized work area, and following instructions to ensure accurate and efficient order processing.

Responsibilities

• Unload and load trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Handle materials throughout the warehouse, including pulling equipment from containers and staging products for shipment.
• Palletize products according to company standards to ensure safe transport and storage.
• Wrap and strap products securely to prevent damage during shipping and handling.
• Perform heavy lifting of items weighing 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, in a safe and responsible manner once trained and authorized.
• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately to complete tasks in the correct sequence and within required timeframes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following warehouse safety and housekeeping guidelines.
• Inspect products and packaging for accuracy and quality, paying close attention to detail.
• Support general warehouse duties as needed, including packaging, sorting, and organizing inventory.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent warehouse operations.

Essential Skills

• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a warehouse or general labor environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Experience with basic warehouse tasks such as loading, unloading, packaging, and palletizing.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work within established processes.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate handling, wrapping, and labeling of products.
• Willingness to submit to a drug test as part of the hiring process.
• Good attendance and reliability, with a strong commitment to showing up on time and ready to work.
• Comfort working in a physically demanding role that involves heavy lifting and extended periods of standing and movement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with palletizing and wrapping products is a plus.
• Prior forklift experience or certification is beneficial and may allow you to operate a forklift from day one once authorized.
• Experience in packaging or shipping environments is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new tasks through cross-training.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The position is based in an open warehouse facility, where temperatures can match outdoor conditions, so it can become hot when the weather is warm. The work involves heavy lifting and consistent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and carrying items throughout the shift. The facility provides breaks and access to water and sports drinks, especially during very hot periods. You may work with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and material handling tools, following safety procedures and guidelines at all times. Dress should be appropriate for a warehouse environment, focusing on safety, comfort, and readiness for physical work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
