Water Resource Recovery Operator (HELP Program)

Title: Water Resource Recovery Operator (HELP Program)

Salary: $56,714 - $75,512 annually

Description of Duties

This position is responsible for operating processes within the Department of Environmental Services Monroe County's wastewater treatment plants and pumping facilities. On weekends, holidays and night shifts, the employee can be expected to be responsible for the supervision of the complete and actual operation of a wastewater treatment plant or in the absence of a higher-level operator. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Senior Water Resource Recovery Operator or other higher-level staff member. Lead supervision is exercised over Water Resource Recovery Operator Trainees and Water Resource Recovery Assistants evenings and weekends. Does related work as required.

HELP PROGRAM: Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program. This program streamlines the appointment process to allow Monroe County to hire diverse, qualified permanent employees quickly and without examinations.

NOTE: There are multiple openings for hire for this role.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a valid New York State Grade III-A or higher (Grade IV-A) Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's Certification*.
