Water Resources Engineer

Water Resources Engineer - St. Louis, MO ABNA is seeking a Water Resources Engineer for our Midtown St. Louis, MO location. This person will provide senior technical support to senior staff and assist in production of water resources, water supply and treatment, and wastewater projects. Candidates will be individuals with a background in hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, and sediment transport. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience with the municipal water/wastewater systems, and hydraulic modeling. Responsible for ensuring the successful execution of design services may include the following tasks and duties: Performing studies and preparing engineering design documents on multiple projects Create and review technical specifications. Make estimates of probable construction costs. Develop reports, technical memos, and design studies. Prepare concept plans and grant applications Review Shop drawings and provide design support during construction. Clearly, communicate concepts and ideas with clients and construction personnel. Develop project proposals, scope, schedule, and man-hour estimates. The chosen candidate must be capable of following instructions, but also be a self-starter. In addition to performing the above stated tasks, the candidate will also be responsible for field data collection, cost estimates, and CAD deliverables. Requirements: x 1-3 years of experience in water resources engineering x Bachelors/Masters in Water Resources, Civil Engineering or related field demonstrated technical background in numerical hydraulic modeling a plus x EI license a plus x Experience with hydrologic modeling (e.g. HEC 2, HEC-HMS), open channel hydraulics (i.e. HEC-RAS, Mike11, etc), collection system modeling (i.e. HYDRA, XP-SWMM, EPA-SWMM, InfoWorks, etc), distribution system modeling (e.g. EPANET), 2D/3D hydraulic/water-quality/sediment-transport modeling (i.e. TABS, MIKE21, Mike3, EFDC, Tuflow, Flo-2D, etc) and CFD (Fluent or Flow3D) x Familiarity with the requirements of the federal bridge scour program as they relate to midwest states x Familiarity with Army Corp of Engineers permitting requirements x A strong work ethic, proven leadership skills, and willingness to work in a team-based work environment x We are looking for candidates with the ability to work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment, who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills able to assume the role as the lead engineer or as a design engineer supporting other lead engineers on large projects.
